Family-Friendly Hotels at Manchester Airport

This guide lists the family facts that each hotel at Manchester Airport publishes on its own website: family rooms, cots, children’s breakfast, pools, and how each hotel reaches the terminals. Where a hotel publishes nothing, confirm directly with the hotel.

Children’s breakfast, extra beds and free stays

The Clayton gives children 12 and under free breakfast on its family offer and has a Young Diners menu. The DoubleTree by Hilton gives children under 5 free breakfast on breakfast and half-board rates and runs a Family Experience for children under 12. The Holiday Inn advertises Kids Stay & Eat Free; the qualifying age is set in IHG’s terms and is not on the hotel page. Booking sites list that children stay free in existing beds at the ibis budget, which has no extra beds. No hotel publishes an extra-bed policy on its own website, so confirm extra beds with the hotel before booking.

Pools

The Radisson Blu is the only hotel on the airport site that publishes a pool: an indoor heated pool in the Pace Health Club, with a gym, sauna and steam room. The hotel does not publish pool hours. The Crowne Plaza, DoubleTree by Hilton and Holiday Inn list no pool, and TRIBE, the Clayton and the ibis budget publish none.

Reaching the terminal with children and luggage

The Holiday Inn and ibis budget are a 2-minute walk from Terminal 2, where all airlines except Ryanair operate. The Radisson Blu has its own entrance on the covered Skylink walkway, less than 15 minutes on foot from each terminal. TRIBE is a 2-minute walk from The Station, which the Skylink links to Terminals 2 and 3. The Clayton runs a free 24-hour shuttle to Terminals 2 and 3 about every 15 minutes, first come, first served, and Terminal 3 is a 5-to-10-minute walk from the hotel. The DoubleTree by Hilton runs a paid shuttle from 4:00 am to 10:00 am and from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Crowne Plaza runs a paid shuttle with an unpublished fare and is a 10-to-15-minute walk from the terminals. The ibis budget lists a scheduled shuttle at £4. Ryanair flies from Terminal 3; see the terminals guide.

Family facilities at the airport

The airport has baby-changing rooms with breastfeeding seating in all terminals, in or near the ladies’ toilets. The Skylink walkways from The Station have lifts, escalators and moving walkways. Pushchairs and buggies may need extra screening at security; check pushchair rules with your airline. The airport lists child-friendly dining, the Little Flyers Club and the Runway Visitor Park, and does not publish play areas or family security lanes. The Escape Lounges admit children, and children under 3 enter free. TransPennine Express allows buggies and prams on all its trains.

For a daytime rest between flights, see the day rooms guide. For an early flight, the sleeping guide covers the airport’s overnight rules. To combine a hotel night with parking, see the park-sleep-fly guide, and for travelling with a dog, see the pet-friendly hotels guide.
